Whatsapp Bug is Making App Crash for Many iPhone Users

iPhone users are facing a hard time accessing WhatsApp today. The iOS app crashes shortly after the user tries to open it, and the issue has been affecting many users worldwide for the past few hours.

WhatsApp has stopped working on the iPhone.  Many users have reported and confirmed the bug as crashes moments after tap the app icon, making it impossible to access the conversation list or send messages to others. There have been noupdates released recently on the App Store, and even the beta version of available through TestFlight is crashing for no reason.

This suggests that the bug may be caused by a problem with Facebook’s servers rather than some malfunction in the iOS app.The bug seems to affect both the regular and Business apps.Although some users have associated today’s bug with the iOS 15.2 update, the app has also been experiencing issues with previous versions of Apple’s mobile operating system. WhatsApp is yet to acknowledge the bug affecting iPhone users.

WhatsApp is rolling out a new privacy measure that hides your “last seen” status from people you don’t know or haven’t chatted with in the app. Previously, set the feature on “Everyone” by default, allowing anyone on to see your status. WhatsApp new update limits the visibility of your status to the people you’ve added on the platform, and sets the feature to “My Contacts” by default instead
